Key Scripture
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6
Everything in the Christian faith stands or falls on who Jesus Christ actually is. Before deliverance, before spiritual warfare, before any prayer — this question must be settled in your heart with clarity and conviction, not just familiarity.
He Is Fully God
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1-3
The Gospel of John opens with one of the most direct declarations in all of Scripture. Jesus is not a great teacher who became divine. He is the eternal Word of God who took on flesh. He existed before creation. All things were made through Him. This is not metaphor.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Colossians 2:9
Paul writes to the church at Colossae to correct a growing error: that Jesus was one spiritual being among many. The answer is direct. The fullness of God — every attribute, every power, every glory of the Godhead — dwells bodily in Jesus Christ.
He Is Fully Man
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
This is the miracle of the Incarnation. The eternal God took on human flesh, born of a virgin, living among us. He experienced hunger, sorrow, temptation, and death. He was not pretending to be human. He became one. This matters because a savior who is not truly human cannot fully represent us, and a savior who is not truly God cannot fully redeem us.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:15
He Is the Only Way
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12
Peter spoke these words to the religious leaders who had crucified Jesus and wanted the disciples to stop preaching. He did not soften the message. There is no other name. Not a better path or a different road. No other name. Jesus is not one option among many. He is the only Savior of the world.
He Rose from the Dead
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
The resurrection is not a symbol. It is not spiritual poetry. Jesus died physically on the cross and rose bodily from the tomb on the third day. Paul writes that if Christ did not rise, our faith is empty and we are still in our sins. But He did rise. And because He lives, we have hope that is not wishful thinking but certain truth.
Prayer
Father, I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ. I believe He is fully God and fully man. I believe He died for my sins and rose from the dead. I surrender to Him as my Lord. Let my knowledge of Christ move from my head into my heart, and let it change how I live. In the name of Jesus, amen.
